INTRODUCTION :
Gender equality is fundamental for a fair, just, and sustainable society. While progress has been made, much more remains to be done to ensure equal opportunities for women and men alike.
BODY:
Gender equality means that men and women should have equal access to resources, opportunities, and rights. This includes equal pay, leadership roles, and freedom from gender-based violence. Yet, globally, women are still paid less for the same work, and often face discrimination in education, healthcare, and the workplace.
In 2012, the brutal gang rape of a young woman in our country, which highlights severe gender-based violence and sparked nationwide protests demanding justice and reforms. This tragic event enhance the issues of gender inequality that exists.
Reflecting on this, I feel a deep responsibility to support gender equality. It's unacceptable that women and girls still face such challenges in 2024. I believe everyone, regardless of gender, should be empowered to make choices and lead fulfilling lives.
CONCLUSION:
Gender equality isn't just a women's issue , it's a human issue. By supporting equal rights, we create a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.
